Dr. Jody O’Brien DDS, LVIF
Dr. Jody O’Brien was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota, and performed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities Campus, where she met her husband. After completing undergraduate studies in 1992, she entered dental school at Creighton University. As a sophomore at Creighton, Dr. Jody received the SCADA Research Award in ER-YAG lasers and presented her table clinic at the National ADA Convention in San Francisco, CA. During her dental school years, she also completed a mission through the ILAC program in Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic, where she provided dental care in third world conditions to residents with none of the comforts of modern life such as running water or electricity.
After graduation from Creighton Dental School in 1996, she returned to the Twin Cities and joined her father-in-law’s practice in Shakopee, MN. Dr. Jody has been an active community member as a Rotarian, Chamber of Commerce board member, Crime Prevention board member, St. Mary’s Church Trustee, a volunteer at schools and the hockey association, and fundraises for the annual town festival. Professionally she has continued to grow since she graduated from dental school. In 2003 Dr. Jody became certified to perform Invisalign®, and in 2006 she was certified in California through the AEI to perform Botox and dermal filler procedures. Dr. Jody attained Fellow in Neuromuscular Dentistry in the winter of 2010. She extensively pursues her passion for esthetics by continuing her education in cosmetics and has completed over 100 hours of continuing education in the past two years. Her devotion continues at the prestigious and world-renowned Las Vegas Institute. (LVI Global).
Dr. Holly McMahon DDS
Dr. Holly (Breeggemann) McMahon was born and raised in Shakopee, Minnesota, and received a degree in Biology from the College of Saint Benedict in 2007. Dr. Holly completed her post-graduate studies at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2011. While at Creighton, Dr. Holly spent two years on the board of Creighton’s chapter of the American Student Dental Association while volunteering for numerous organizations such as the One World clinic and the annual Give Kids a Smile Day.
During her senior year, she was awarded the prestigious Dr. and Mrs. Philip J. Maschka Award. This award is presented to the graduating senior who displayed the highest order of professionalism, concern for patients, honesty, integrity, morality, responsibility, and scholastic and clinical ability. In 2013, Dr Holly became certified with Invisalign, and in 2018, she became certified at the University of Minnesota to perform Botox and dermal fillers. Dr. Holly has been at O’Brien Dental Care for 20 years, having spent a decade working at the clinic prior to receiving her DDS in 2011.
Practicing in her hometown, Dr. Holly continues her enthusiastic participation in local volunteer endeavors. She is a two-time past recipient of the Citizenship Award from the Shakopee Legion and Shakopee VFW. Dr. Holly has been active in the community as an ambassador for the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce and enjoys being a volunteer and committee member at her kids’ school. She is active in the professional arena as a member of the ADA, MDA, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society. Outside of the office, Dr. Holly enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. She enjoys watching her kids in their various sports and spending time outside enjoying the lakes of Minnesota. Dr. Holly looks forward to working with you and your family to provide a comfortable dental experience.
Dr. Miranda Mulligan DDS
Dr. Miranda Mulligan grew up in Eden Prairie and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Saint Thomas. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Neuroscience and was a member of the NuRhoPsi honor society. In addition to her studies, Dr. Miranda danced on the St. Thomas dance team and was the head coach of the Varsity and Junior Varsity dance teams at Hill-Murray School for two years. Dr. Miranda attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors and received the Henry B. Clark Award for excellence in oral surgery. During her first year of dental school, Dr. Miranda did a research fellowship studying oral cancer at the cellular and molecular level. She presented this research at two national conferences, which won her two awards and has since been published in the American Association of Cancer Research. Dr. Miranda attended a mission trip in Guatemala during her final year of school, providing much-needed dental care in an underserved and impoverished community.
In her free time, Dr. Miranda loves traveling, hiking and biking, yoga, reading, painting, cooking, and even making her cheese! Dr. Miranda cares deeply about her patients’ health and is a strong advocate of education. As such, she strives to incorporate education into her practice method, so patients have the tools to care for and make the best decisions for themselves when it comes to both oral and overall health. Dr. Miranda is so grateful to serve the Shakopee community and looks forward to making a positive impact on her patients’ lives.
Dr. Charlie Wenner DDS
Dr. Charlie Wenner was born and raised in Richmond, MN. He attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, where he graduated with a degree in health science. After a year of working in a dental lab, Dr. Charlie began working toward his DDS degree at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He became passionate about dentistry during his time at St. John’s after completing mission trips in Costa Rica and Guatemala, where he treated patients with limited access to dental care. During his time in dental school, he was active in the American Dental Student Association by attending the National Leadership Conference and National Dental Lobby Day in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Charlie stays up to date with the latest dental practices and technology through continuing education and memberships with the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Charlie enjoys staying active by biking, traveling to National Parks to hike, playing softball, golfing, sporting events, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and skiing.
